Chocolate Mousse without Egg (3 ingredients)

Instructions

  1. Add cold water into the inner pot of the instant pot or in a pan if using a stovetop.
  2. Select saute mode and place a heat-proof glass bowl.
  3. Add 3/4 cup heavy cream and chocolate, and keep the saute/heat on low.
    1 1/2 cups heavy cream,1 cup chocolate
  4. Mix it with a spatula everything together while the chocolate melts, this should take only 2-3 minutes. Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and keep stirring.
  5. Now in a stand mixer or hand-held electric whisk, whisk the rest of the cream (1 cup) until it reaches soft peaks.
  6. Then add in the powdered sugar or icing sugar (sieved) and whisk until you reach stiff peaks.

  7. Add in the chocolate (it should be cooled).
  8. Fold it in using a spatula each time.
  9. Place in serving glasses or decorative tea cups and refrigerate for up to two hours to allow it to set.
  10. When you are ready to serve, remove from the fridge 10 minutes early, top with grated/shaved chocolate and rose petals
    1 tablespoon chocolate,1 teaspoon rose petals

NOTES

  • If using yogurt to make an egg-free chocolate mousse recipe, reduce the cream to 1 1/3 to 1 cup. (about 300ml)
  • Yogurt should be 1/2 cup. 
  • You can double the recipe for a large batch.
